Our village needs a Community Centre and the Community Centre needs you!

Membership is open to all village residents. Your membership and active participation in the centre is critical to developing and realising first class facilities in the village centre.

The building, which is conveniently located in the heart of the village, directly opposite the Co-operative Food Store on the High Street, offers several large spaces that is envisaged will provide a daytime coffee shop, mother and toddler play area, local information and heritage displays, youth drop-in centre, music and drama performances and all forms of dancing and social events. These spaces are also available for private hire.

A charity, registration no: 1128604 and board of volunteer Trustees has been formed to progressively develop this exciting opportunity and provide much needed social facilities for all village residents.

Fresh things to do for summer

    What is available today ?

The old school hall has recently been redecorated to provide a large bright space suitable for wide range of activities. This space is for hire, there are comprehensive kitchen, toilet facilities and disabled access to this space.

What plans for the future ?

It is intended to progressively refurbish the complete complex to a high quality standard. This will bring the original church space, with its unique and interesting vaulted and beamed ceiling, into play along with a separate first floor area for the youth drop-in centre.
The full refurbishment is dependent on our obtaining sufficient grants and donations, plus of course the goodwill and support of local volunteers undertaking diy and support activities where appropriate.

    Village 'Needs' Survey

In order to set the correct priorities for bringing new facilities/services online in the community centre, the trustees commissioned a Village residents 'needs' survey to gather your views. Completing the survey took less than 5 minutes and ensured your opinions were known and could be taken into account when funding priorities are set.
